Amazon reportedly cuts Magic Play Booster Boxes, from $118
Reported Amazon discounts cover Star Trek (26% off before launch), both Marvel sets, The Hobbit, Avatar, Lorwyn Eclipsed and Secrets of Strixhaven ahead of Black Friday.
Amazon has reportedly lowered prices on a range of Magic: The Gathering Play Booster Boxes in the run-up to Black Friday, with the cheapest reported box at $118. The Star Trek box is reportedly 26% off, even though that set has not yet launched.
The figures come from community reporting only. TCGKing has not found an official publisher or retailer statement, so every price below should be treated as reported and checked on Amazon before buying.
The prices, set by set
The reported Play Booster Box prices are:
- Marvel Spider-Man (30 packs): $134.95, against $209.70 around this time last year.
- Marvel Super Heroes (June 2026): down from the same $209.70 MSRP to $149.99
- The Hobbit: $161.93, a 23% discount. This box includes a box topper.
- Avatar: The Last Airbender (30 packs): $139.99
- Lorwyn Eclipsed: $118. The same product was reportedly about $11 cheaper recently, so this price is not the lowest it has been.
- Secrets of Strixhaven (30 packs): $129.99, a 21% discount.
- Reality Fracture, the current set: $153.98 from a third-party seller on Amazon, about $10 below MSRP.
Universes Beyond and Universes Within
The discounts reach both kinds of Magic product. On the Universes Beyond side are Star Trek, both Marvel sets, The Hobbit and Avatar: The Last Airbender. On the Universes Within side are Lorwyn Eclipsed, Secrets of Strixhaven and Reality Fracture.
Only Play Booster Boxes are covered. Collector Boosters, where the most valuable cards of each set are found, cost much more and are not part of these deals.
Context
Star Trek is the set closest to release. TCGKing has reported that it is landing November 13, which means its box is already discounted before the set is on shelves.
A new Marvel set called Darkhold Destiny is announced for next year.
What it means for players and collectors
- Buyers of sealed product can measure the Marvel boxes against the $209.70 figure cited for last year and the MSRP.
- The Reality Fracture price comes from a third-party seller on Amazon rather than Amazon itself.
- The Hobbit is the only box in this group reported to include a box topper.
What is still unknown
How long the discounts last has not been stated, and neither has whether prices will fall further on Black Friday itself.
