Ink drops: the new mechanic

Ink drops are special temporary ink pieces that go into the inkwell, so cards and glimmers can be deployed faster. Having one in play may let you draw extra cards, power up stats, or upgrade actions.

Four cards show how the mechanic works:

• Madam Mim – Resourceful Trickster helps add cards to your hand, depending on how you use your ink drop.
• Go Go Tomago – Extreme Tester gives you 1 ink drop when an opponent challenges her.
• Wasabi – Called into Battle boosts his lasers while you have an ink drop in play. The size of the bonus is not stated.
• Jousting Match, an action, gives 3 more damage to deal if you use an ink drop when playing it.

Coco, princesses, and the city's cast

Coco debuts in Hyperia City with glimmers of the Rivera family and a glimmer of Ernesto de la Cruz. Coco song cards appear in Amber, Amethyst, and Ruby inks and cover moments from Miguel and Héctor Rivera's adventure.

A Coco-inspired location card gives extra lore if you have 10 or more cards that "passed on" in your discard pile. The amount is given only as "a few," and the card's name is not given.

The set is themed around a city where metropolitan life meets the fantastical. Heroes, princesses, and wizards share it with music and art, and there is a darker side in the back alleys and waterways. Princess glimmers appear in new fashions, exploring their passions in the city. Glimmers of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde investigate how ink drops emerged, and a glimmer of Gazelle headlines a concert attended by other animal characters.

The Enchanted card style features dramatic after-dark lighting and glimmers enjoying the city's nightlife.

Organized play and Set Championship rewards

Organized play for the set includes Set Championship events, with prizes promised for top players. Participants receive the Honey Lemon - Testing the Limits playmat, and the Top 8 receive a Foil Honey Lemon - Testing the Limits card.

Why it matters

Ink drops affect how quickly cards and glimmers come out, and several of the sample cards trigger on them.

The Prerelease date of October 16, 2026 is the same day as the Beauty and the Beast Curator's Collection debut covered in TCGKing's earlier report on Lorcana's Curator's Collection.

What is still unknown

Prices for the booster packs, Booster Display Box, Prerelease Box, and Illumineer's Trove are not announced. The set's total card count and rarity breakdown are not stated, and neither is the number of packs in a Booster Display Box.

Set Championship dates and format are not given. The release date applies to "Everywhere," and no further regional or language details are specified.
