Magic's Marvel Secret Lair Countdown Kit: 30 Cards for $199.99
Wizards of the Coast's 30-card Marvel kit launches November 2, 2026 only on MagicSecretLair.com and includes two Darkhold Destiny uncommons early.
Wizards of the Coast has announced Secret Lair Countdown Kit: Marvel's History of Heroes, a 30-card Magic: The Gathering collection that walks through eras and moments from the history of the Marvel Universe. It launches on November 2, 2026, costs $199.99 USD, and is sold only on MagicSecretLair.com.
Two of the cards are not exclusive in the long run: Doctor Strange, Master of Magic and Beta Ray Bill are uncommons from the main set of Magic: The Gathering | Marvel: Darkhold Destiny, and the kit puts them in players' hands ahead of the set's usual availability.
What is in the kit
Each copy holds 30 individually packaged Magic cards. Every card stands for an era or moment from the history of the Marvel Universe.
The artwork comes from more than 30 artists.
Finish is a matter of luck: the cards appear randomly in non-foil, foil, or surge foil.
Dates, price, and where to buy
The kit goes on sale November 2, 2026, at a price of $199.99 USD. It is available only through MagicSecretLair.com; no other sales channel is listed.
Wizards also offers a sign-up that sends a notification when the collection arrives on the Secret Lair storefront.
The Darkhold Destiny cards
Doctor Strange, Master of Magic and Beta Ray Bill will be legal in all formats starting with the Prerelease events for Magic: The Gathering | Marvel: Darkhold Destiny. Those Prerelease events begin on April 2, 2027.
Because the kit launches on November 2, 2026, buyers will hold the two uncommons well before the Prerelease start date of April 2, 2027, since the kit includes them ahead of their usual availability in the main set.
Why it matters
At $199.99 USD for 30 cards, the Countdown Kit features illustrations from more than 30 artists, and the cards appear randomly in non-foil, foil, or surge foil.
For players, the practical hook is the pair of Darkhold Destiny uncommons. Both are headed to all formats when the Prerelease events begin on April 2, 2027, so the kit offers an early look at two cards from the upcoming main set.
What is still unknown
Which regions and countries can order the kit has not been announced yet, and neither have prices in currencies other than USD. The only listed price is $199.99 USD, and the only listed storefront is MagicSecretLair.com.
The full list of the 30 cards has not been published, beyond Doctor Strange, Master of Magic and Beta Ray Bill. The names of the artists are also not given, and there is no announcement yet on any purchase limit or maximum order quantity.
