The Federation Fleet is a Jeskai (white, blue, red) Star Trek Commander precon for Magic: The Gathering, according to a TheGamer deck guide. It is led by Jean-Luc Picard, Luminary, and its plan is to draw cards, put +1/+1 counters on creatures and charge up Spacecraft.

Every detail below comes from that single guide. TCGKing has not found an official publisher source that confirms the list, so treat all of it as reported.

Federation Fleet commanders: Picard and Janeway

Jean-Luc Picard, Luminary is a four-mana (1U, 1R, 1W, 1C) 2/4 creature.

He draws you a card whenever a historic permanent with mana value three or greater enters under your control. Artifacts, legendaries and sagas all count as historic.

His Seek Out ability triggers when you draw your second card each turn. You then put a +1/+1 counter on one other target creature and two charge counters on up to one Spacecraft.

The backup commander is Captain Janeway, Endgame, a four-mana creature with the same cost structure that enters as a 3/3.

Whenever one or more Officers you control deal combat damage to a player, you draw a card and create a 1/1 red Officer creature token. Paying two colorless mana and tapping an untapped creature you control makes her unblockable.

Federation Fleet Spacecraft and decklist highlights

U.S.S. Prometheus, Prototype is a five-mana Spacecraft that enters as a 6/6. Once fully stationed, each time it deals combat damage to a player it deals damage equal to its power to every opponent.

The other Spacecraft in the list are:

  • U.S.S. Enterprise-E, Sovereign
  • U.S.S. Defiant, Tough Little Ship
  • U.S.S. Enterprise-C, Time-Tossed
  • U.S.S. Stargazer, Here and There

The guide groups the rest of the list by role:

  • Interaction: Cryptic Command, Negate, Swords to Plowshares, Supreme Verdict, Pongify, Abrade and Fractured Identity.
  • Card draw: Frantic Search, Thrill of Possibility, Alhammarret's Archive, Howling Mine, Fevered Visions, Temporal Tribulation and Malfunctioning Holodeck.
  • Mana and artifacts: Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Mind Stone, Commander's Sphere, Hedron Archive, Thought Vessel, Stonespeaker Crystal and the Talismans of Conviction, Creativity and Progress.

The mana base uses Command Tower, Battlefield Forge, Clifftop Retreat, Coastal Peak, Sulfur Falls, Glacial Fortress, Fabled Passage, Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse, plus 5 Island, 4 Plains and 4 Mountain.

Star Trek characters in the Federation Fleet list

The named characters are Ambassador K'Ehleyr, Beverly Crusher, Dr. Pulaski, Ensign Harry Kim, Ezri Dax, Guinan, Julian Bashir, Spot, Chief Miles O'Brian, Data, Geordi La Forge, Kes, Seven of Nine, Tuvok, Ro Loren, Rom and Leeta, B'Elanna Torres, Cmdr. Troi, Commander William Riker, Reg Barclay, Tom Paris, Vic Fontaine, Worf and Loran of the Third Path.

TheGamer's verdict on the Federation Fleet

TheGamer says the deck lacks enchantments and non-mana-generating artifacts, and calls it fairly one-dimensional. It sees upgrade potential, but as built the deck does not make the top ten of its 2026 Commander precon rankings.

The deck is part of TCGKing's coverage of the Star Trek Commander decks, which are listed for November 13. Another Jeskai build in the same colors is the Vraska, Soul of Stone Jeskai guide.

What it means for players

  • Picard rewards artifacts, legendaries and sagas at mana value three or greater, so those permanents are the deck's main source of card advantage.
  • Drawing a second card each turn triggers the counters and Spacecraft charging.
  • Janeway suits players who prefer an Officer-token plan with an unblockable option.
  • The verdict points to enchantments and extra non-mana artifacts as the obvious upgrade areas.

What is still unknown

  • A release date is not stated in this guide.
  • A price is not stated.
  • Whether the deck is sold in other regions or formats is not stated.
  • Official publisher confirmation is not cited.
