Pokémon WCS 2027 Qualification: Master League Top 64 at PJCS2027 Earn Worlds Spots
The Pokémon Company has set out how players qualify for the Card Game division of the Pokémon World Championships 2027 (Pokémon WCS 2027), and the biggest door is wide: the final top 64 Master League players at the Pokémon Japan Championships 2027 (PJCS2027) are in. This is the Japanese qualification route.
There are three main paths: Champions League 2027, PJCS2027 and the City League 2027 Season 4 Championship Point race. A fourth, invitation slots at PJCS2027, adds travel or lodging support for top finishers.
Pokémon WCS 2027 Qualification Paths by Event
Champions League 2027 sends players to Worlds based on final placement:
- Junior, Senior and Open Leagues: final top 4 in each
- Master League: final top 8
PJCS2027 qualifies the following finishers:
- Master League: final top 64 players
- Senior League: final top 16
- Junior League: final top 16
City League 2027 Season 4 Championship Points
City League 2027 Season 4 works as a ranking race rather than a single event. Players with the most Championship Points as of the day after the final day of Season 4 qualify, and that final day is scheduled for early May 2027.
The cut is the top 40 in each of the Master League, Senior League and Junior League.
PJCS2027 Invitation Qualifications With Travel Support
PJCS2027 also hands out invitation slots with round-trip travel expenses plus on-site accommodation:
- Master League, 1st–5th place (8 players)
- Senior League, 1st–3rd place (4 players)
- Junior League, 1st–3rd place (4 players)
A lighter tier covers on-site accommodation only, with no travel expenses:
- Master League, 9th place (8 players)
- Senior League, 5th place (4 players)
- Junior League, 5th place (4 players)
TCGKing's take: a top 64 Master League cut at PJCS2027 is far more generous than the top 8 from Champions League, so the national championship is the widest route to Worlds on this list. The travel-support tiers matter mostly to players who would otherwise pay their own way.
