The official Radiance FAQ for Riftbound: League of Legends Trading Card Game is out, collecting rulings on card interactions from Radiance. It covers Neeko, Blending In via Kharox, Mobilize and Catalyst of Aeons with Seraphic Wyvern, Runeblade Anvil timing, Baron Nashor, Riven, and Gravity Field.

The Radiance Release Notes article gets additional backing from this FAQ.

Riftbound FAQ Precedence and Shorthand

Whenever the FAQ and the Core Rules Document disagree, the FAQ wins. Once a new Core Rules Document is published, though, it overrides whatever points conflict with the FAQ.

The FAQ uses this shorthand:

  • [E] = exhaust
  • [M] = Might
  • [A] = a single power from any domain
  • [C] = a single power from the domain of this card

Within Accelerate costs, [C] adopts the unit's domain, and turns into [A] when the unit has either no domain or several.

Neeko, Blending In and Kharox Ruling

If an opponent empowers Kharox and plays your Neeko, Blending In from your trash, they do not get one of your Legends. When the play effect resolves, they may add one of their own deckbuilding Legends to their Legend Zone, but only if their own deck has a copy of Neeko, Blending In.

If their deck (main deck or sideboard) has no copy of Neeko, the instruction is ignored.

Seraphic Wyvern, Mobilize and Catalyst of Aeons

Playing Mobilize while controlling Seraphic Wyvern with only one rune left in the Rune Deck: you do not draw a card. Wyvern's channel event involves a new game object, so the referenced action stays limited to the original one written in the spell's instructions (rule 359.3.e.14.c).

With Catalyst of Aeons, a Wyvern on the board and two runes left, the controller could channel 2 runes, even though Wyvern's extra channel could not happen. They do not draw 1.

Mordekaiser, Iron Revenant Cost Rulings

When Meticulous Restorationist is played from the trash for [Y] through its triggered ability, Mordekaiser, Iron Revenant lets you pay by banishing a unit or gear from your trash. "Play me for [Cost]" works as an alternate cost that swaps the base cost ([2]) for [Y], and Mordekaiser's Power may only be spent on playing units (rule 356.1.a).

For Atakhan, you cannot banish the non-token unit killed for the additional cost to help pay Atakhan's Power cost. Energy and Power costs are paid before other non-standard costs, so the unit is not yet dead (rules 357.1., 357.2.).

Runeblade Anvil Timing Rulings

When Runeblade Anvil is killed, the window for playing the banished card depends on the phase:

  • Opponent's turn: the card can be played until the Ending Phase of your next turn begins.
  • Your own turn: playing it during that turn's Ending Phase is not allowed, since the permission runs "until your next Ending Phase" and disappears once that point starts.
  • Your Ending Phase: it can be played until your next turn's Ending Phase begins.

Baron Nashor and Riven Rulings

Controlling Hunters' Circle with no Baron Pit on the board lets you play Baron Nashor for [9][C][C][C]. Hunters' Circle's cost reduction applies to the first unit or gear each player plays there on their own turn. The cost reduction is applied at finalization (steps 2 and 3), ahead of the replacement effect that has him enter at the Baron Pit (rule 355.2).

With a battlefield controlled and Riven, the Exile as legend, Baron can be played without a Baron Pit and enters ready. Two replacement effects are in play, and whatever the order, he ends up entering ready at the Baron Pit.

For Riven, Broken Blade, the exhaust trigger's buff is spent when the triggered ability resolves, not when it is finalized (rule 383.3.b).

When Riven, Broken Blade and Stellacorn Herder are Standard Moved together, Riven's exhaust trigger goes onto the chain first, and the move triggers follow (rule 203).

Gravity Field, Charm and Angler Wyrm Rulings

If you decline to pay the cost to Standard Move to a battlefield with Gravity Field, you cannot still exhaust your unit. A move cannot be attempted if it is impossible or its costs cannot be paid, and an unpayable cost undoes and cancels the move.

When you play Charm to move an enemy unit onto a battlefield where you control Gravity Field, that unit's controller pays nothing, since Charm tells you to move the unit. Had the opponent controlled the Gravity Field, you would be the one paying [1][A] (rule 412.2. and subrules).

Using Angler Wyrm's activated ability at a Gravity Field battlefield makes the opponent responsible for the cost. Should they decline or be unable to pay, the unit stays put.

With Hunker Down, a unit unable to move cannot be picked for the move instruction when other units can. When no unit is able to move, the instruction is negated.

Once Possession has taken control of an opponent's Ekko, Revolutionary, his activated ability can be used to banish and then play him, and you control him when he comes back (rules 378., 191.2.).

Radiance Context

The FAQ lands after Radiance launched on October 23, 2026, and early results reportedly show Riven among the decks winning events, so the Riven rulings matter for current play.

What it means for players

  • Check Seraphic Wyvern interactions before drawing off Mobilize or Catalyst of Aeons: in the cases ruled on (one rune left for Mobilize, two runes left for Catalyst of Aeons), neither draws.
  • Runeblade Anvil is time-sensitive: a kill on your own turn means the banished card cannot be played in that Ending Phase.
