The Landing Party, a Bant (green-white-blue) Star Trek Commander precon for Magic: The Gathering, now has a full decklist, and it rewards anyone who enjoys a mana base full of differently named lands. It is the last of the Star Trek Commander decks to be fully revealed, according to reports.

According to reports, the list was shown on October 29, alongside the last mythics of the Star Trek main set, and the remaining cards are due to be revealed the following day.

Landing Party Commanders: Commander Spock and Captain Kirk

Commander Spock is the face commander, a five-mana 3/5. Whenever he enters or attacks, his Strange New Worlds ability flips over the library's top card for everyone to see.

Casting that card costs nothing, provided its mana cost does not exceed how many differently named lands you control. If a land is revealed, it can enter the battlefield tapped; should the card remain on top of the library, you draw a card in its place.

Captain Kirk, Boldly Going is the second commander: a four-mana 3/4 with Vigilance that gives Spacecraft creatures you control +3/+3.

Upon entering or attacking, it lets you dig through your library or graveyard for either a basic land card or a card named Starship Enterprise; you show it and add it to your hand. You shuffle afterward if you searched your library.

Landing Party Decklist Highlights

The strategy centers on ramp and on running many differently named lands to feed Strange New Worlds. Landfall, +1/+1 counters, Trample, and card draw round out the plan.

  • Crew and characters: Fleet Captain Christopher Pike; Lieutenant Nyota Uhura; Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu; Chief Montgomery Scott; Pavel Chekov, First Posting; McCoy, Not a Bricklayer; T'Pring, Never Parted; and others.
  • Reprinted creatures: Sun Titan, Ancient Greenwarden, Augur of Autumn, Lotus Cobra, Scute Swarm, Tireless Tracker, Cold-Blooded Crew, Syndicate Liquidators, Satyr Wayfinder.
  • Instants: Path to Exile, Brainstorm, Heroic Intervention, Beast Within, and more.
  • Sorceries: Austere Command, Wrath of God, Cultivate, Farseek, Rampant Growth, and more.
  • Artifacts and enchantments: Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Starship Enterprise, Shuttlecraft Galileo, Guardian Project, Exploration.
  • Other cards: The Guardian of Forever, Planet Killer, Earth, Sector 001, Risa, and Vulcan.

Landing Party Mana Base

Among the nonbasic lands reported for the deck are Command Tower, Mutavault, Reliquary Tower, Terramorphic Expanse, and Temple of the False God. That variety is the point, since Spock counts differently named lands.

Basics are 4 Forest, 2 Plains, and 2 Island.

TCGKing's take: the heavy green ramp suite plus a land-fetching Kirk means Spock's free-cast trigger should check out big spells, but that is a read of the list, not a tested result.

Star Trek Commander Context

The decks sit within the closing Universes Beyond set of 2026, whose signed headliners and art backlash we covered on October 29.

What is still unknown

  • The price of the Landing Party deck is not announced yet.
  • Which cards beyond the named reprints are new is not stated in the reports.
  • The card count of the deck is not announced yet.
