Azorius Flash Standard Deck Built on Victory Musician Runs 22 Creatures

A Japanese Standard guide builds Azorius (white-blue) Flash around the current Planeswalker Series promo Victory Musician, and it publishes the full 60-card list. PWS, short for "Planeswalker Series," is an event unique to Japan, held at card shops that handle Magic and themed around Standard play. Its promo cards change each season and are given out as participation, top-placement or rock-paper-scissors tournament prizes. This season's promos are Strategic Betrayal and Victory Musician. The deck plays 25 lands, 22 creatures, 13 spells and a 15-card sideboard, and every creature except Victory Musician has flash. Victory Musician is a 2-mana white creature with toughness 3; opponents cannot cast spells during its controller's turn, and when it attacks it creates two 1/1 tokens that are sacrificed and do not stay on the battlefield. The article describes it as played from Standard through Legacy. The guide pairs 4 High Noon, which limits each player to one spell per turn, with Victory Musician so the opponent does nothing on the controller's turn while the controller can act at flash speed on the opponent's turn. The article calls High Noon a very likely inclusion in this archetype. Floodpits Drowner and Wanderous Wasp can tap opposing creatures before attackers are declared, while Anne, the Swift Savior and Aven Interrupter exile an opponent's spell, which can be recast later. Skybus Conductor can exile a creature with its Full Speed Ahead ability to dodge removal or reuse its enters-the-battlefield effect. The list includes cards from the Reality Fracture set, and the guide wonders how the deck will fare in the upcoming Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek environment.
