TCG briefs for October 22, 2026

The Pokémon Company is running Halloween-themed Pokémon TCG events in China under the title "Ghosts in the Mysterious Night", according to the German fan site PokéZentrum. They reportedly take place from October 26 to November 25, 2026, and the winners receive a Duskull illustration card.

No official announcement is cited, so the details below are reported, not confirmed.

Each event is reportedly played over three to five rounds and needs at least eight players.

The winner receives one Duskull promo card. The other seven players can enter a draw, and one of them, picked at random, wins a second copy. No more than four promo cards are handed out per event.

A retired decorator from Woking, Surrey, has sold a Pokémon card collection for nearly $2.1 million at Ewbank's auction house. The seller is anonymous, and the sale is reported rather than confirmed by an official Pokémon source.

All 42 sets went under the hammer on October 21. According to the BBC, as relayed by Polygon, the sale total was £1.56m. According to Ewbank's, the sale was the best in its more than 30 years of trading. The house also says it ran the highest-value trading card auction ever staged in the UK, and possibly a European record.

Leading the sale was a Legendary Collection Complete Master Set that included a near-mint Charizard card. It sold for approximately $134,000, against an original estimate of $20,000 to $27,000. The BBC puts the hammer price of the lot at £100,000 (about $133,000). The Legendary Collection is a 2002 release, and a "Master Set" is a collection that includes every card in a set, including holographic and promotional versions.
