TCG briefs for October 23, 2026

According to MTGGoldfish's Much Abrew column, a Magic: The Gathering Modern deck called Dark Matter Rakdos (also known as Rakdos Dark Matter Manipulator Aggro) is built around cards from Reality Fracture. The list plays 17 lands, and its author reportedly finished a Modern league at 4-1.

The author argues that Reality Fracture has had a major impact on Modern, with several new decks appearing around its cards. This is a single community-sourced report, and no publisher has commented on the deck.

The approach is a graveyard-focused aggro plan. Many one-drops either fill the graveyard or get bigger as it fills, some removal supports them, and Detective's Phoenix closes out the game.

An official Japanese Magic column has put a Legacy Golgari (black-green) Hogaak deck on display, and it uses Dark Matter Manipulator from Reality Fracture as a core piece. The list appears in Iwa-SHOW's 'Cool Deck of the Week' series.

Dark Matter Manipulator is a 1-mana 1/2 creature that mills 3 cards when it enters the battlefield. It gets +2 power for every 7 cards in its controller's graveyard.

The card debuted in tournaments on the release weekend of Reality Fracture and has produced results in Modern. This column moves it into Legacy.

The deck plays 28 creatures: 4 Moonshadow, 4 Dark Matter Manipulator, 3 Stitcher's Supplier, 3 Elvish Reclaimer, and 3 Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis. Several others are given by their Japanese names in the column. They include 4 copies of a creature called 'Oku no Yumitsukai' and 4 of 'Seiibutsu no Wight', plus 2 of 'Ōkamaneko no Ko' and 1 of 'Mori wo Mamoru Mono'.

Knacksaw Clique, a rare Faerie from the Shadowmoor set of Magic: The Gathering, has reportedly seen regular copies rise from $2.80 in August to over $18 as of the article's date. Foil copies have sold for as much as $200, even when not in mint condition. According to the source, the move comes from the cEDH format and not from any new card.

The reported driver is tournament results. In recent months, Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy decks that run Knacksaw Clique have topped several cEDH events, among them the 80-player Topdeck Invitational in August.

The interaction at the center of this is not new. The infinite combo already existed and had been undervalued until now, and no new cards are involved in the spike.

A Jeskai (blue-red-white) "Super Friends" control deck for Standard runs 10 planeswalkers and no creature cards in the main deck. It is built around Reality Fracture and includes Ajani Unrelenting.

The main deck has 25 lands and 35 spells, and the sideboard holds 15 cards.

The 10 planeswalkers come in five kinds, two copies of each: Chandra, Rebel Pathfinder; the blue Chandra of the Obedient Chill type; Jace Beleren the Theorist type; Elspeth, Stormbreaker type; and Ajani Unrelenting.

The other spells include 3 Lightning Helix, 3 counterspells of the Quench type, 4 draw spells of the Refill type, 2 wrath effects of the Doomsday type, 2 Pinnacle star-cage, 2 Consul's authority, and 1 Gideon's memorial. Several of these are known only by their Japanese names, so English names are not confirmed.

Star City Games has reportedly put out four Magic: The Gathering Commander (cEDH) article decks in a piece called "The Spike Feeders: Goofy And Lighthearted cEDH," dated Oct 22, 2026. According to the outlet, the commanders are Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh and Silas Renn, Seeker Adept (a pair), Godo, Bandit Warlord, Derevi, Empyrial Tactician, and Tivit, Seller of Secrets.

This is a single-source report from a retailer-side outlet. No official Wizards of the Coast source is among the evidence, so everything below is reported rather than confirmed.

This list is credited to Fil. It is built around 28 instants and 17 sorceries, with only 6 creatures, alongside 19 artifacts, 5 enchantments and 23 lands.

Amazon has reportedly lowered prices on a range of Magic: The Gathering Play Booster Boxes in the run-up to Black Friday, with the cheapest reported box at $118. The Star Trek box is reportedly 26% off, even though that set has not yet launched.

The figures come from community reporting only. TCGKing has not found an official publisher or retailer statement, so every price below should be treated as reported and checked on Amazon before buying.

The reported Play Booster Box prices are:

• Marvel Spider-Man (30 packs): $134.95, against $209.70 around this time last year.
• Marvel Super Heroes (June 2026): down from the same $209.70 MSRP to $149.99
• The Hobbit: $161.93, a 23% discount. This box includes a box topper.
• Avatar: The Last Airbender (30 packs): $139.99
• Lorwyn Eclipsed: $118. The same product was reportedly about $11 cheaper recently, so this price is not the lowest it has been.
• Secrets of Strixhaven (30 packs): $129.99, a 21% discount.
• Reality Fracture, the current set: $153.98 from a third-party seller on Amazon, about $10 below MSRP.

Amazon has reportedly restocked the five Foundations Commander decks for Magic: The Gathering, with one catch: the MSRP price applies only to a bundle containing all five. Buying decks one at a time costs more than MSRP.

This story rests on community and press reporting alone. No official Wizards of the Coast source backs it yet, so everything below is reported rather than confirmed.

The reported MSRP for each Foundations Commander deck is $30.

According to the report, the bundle is the only way to get that price. Buyers who go piecemeal pay above MSRP.

The secondary market is steeper still. Some of the decks have reportedly reached as high as $60, and Tramplesaurus Rex is the example named. That mono-green deck was still listed at $79.95 through a third-party seller.

Avatar of Burgeoning Echoes, from the Magic: The Gathering set Reality Fracture, is reportedly being played in Vintage. Per the community column behind this report, RUG Tempo/Control builds have been the main home for it. BUG and Lurrus DRS variants have shown up as well.

The column's author notes that the results for these decks cover only a few weeks since Reality Fracture's release.

The Avatar builds on Empower Jace, a mechanic from Reality Fracture. If you Empower Jace X and you control no token Jace Planeswalker, you create one and put X loyalty counters on it. If you already control the token, the X counters go onto it instead.

That token Jace has two relevant abilities: -1 for Surveil 1 and -3 for Draw a card.

Heritage Auctions is reportedly running a Magic: The Gathering sale on October 29, 2026, and its headline lot is an Unlimited Black Lotus signed by Christopher Rush and Richard Garfield, according to ICv2.

Everything below comes from one trade-press report. Neither Wizards of the Coast nor Heritage Auctions has confirmed it in an official announcement that we have seen.

The event is titled "Tapping Into The Many Worlds Of Magic: The Gathering Volume X Trading Card Games Showcase Auction." Its date is October 29, 2026.

The signed Black Lotus is not the only vintage item. Several oversized Magic promo cards that were distributed with vintage TCG magazines, among them Scrye and Inquest, are reportedly included as well.

An acoustic guitar has reportedly joined Post Malone's Magic: The Gathering collection. The instrument features the Alpha artwork of Demonic Tutor, hand-painted by the card's original artist, Douglas Shuler.

No official publisher source has commented, so everything below is REPORTED and comes from community and social media posts.

On October 21, 2026, Post Malone put up three pictures on his social media accounts. The first of them showed the guitar. The post came with no caption or context.

The background came from Mark Aronowitz, owner of Mark's Artist Signing Service, who wrote about it on his Facebook page. According to him, people working for Post Malone reached out a few months earlier. They wanted an acoustic guitar painted as a gift for the musician.

Beyond The Brave, the Yu-Gi-Oh! set using BETB-AE (OCG-AE) card numbers, has reportedly had a new batch of cards revealed. A French community source now reports that the main booster (code BETB) was released on October 8, 2026. The list centers on Destiny HERO, Umbral Horror, and Masked HERO, with Red-Eyes cards and older Joey cards alongside them.

Four Destiny HERO cards are listed: BETB-AE021 Destiny HERO – Destro-Dogma, BETB-AE022 Destiny HERO – Doom Overlord, BETB-AE023 Destiny HERO – Dreadnought Servant, and BETB-AE037 Destiny HERO – Dreadnought Masster. BETB-AE062 Dark City at Midnight appears with them. BETB-AE106 Skyborne Blue Cularsaw is listed as Destiny HERO World Premiere Support.

The release is volume 17 of the official card sleeves series. There are 4 types in total, each featuring different popular characters.

The four designs are Saint Gunko, Loki, Straw Hat Crew, and Baroque Works, according to the official English product page.

Each set contains 70 sleeves. The official French product page adds that one pack contains one design, so each pack holds a single one of the four designs.

The illustrations shown may differ somewhat from the final product, and product details may also differ from the actual item.

The official Asia English site has announced the ONE PIECE CARD GAME Mini-tin Pack Set vol. 4. The product is meant for Asian regions excluding Japan, and the date on its page is November 20, 2026. Inside are a mini-tin, a Promotion Card and four OP-17 Booster Packs.

Every set bundles three kinds of items:

• 1 Mini-tin case, picked from 6 types
• 1 Promotion Card, picked from 7 types
• 4 Booster Packs of OP-17

Buyers therefore get a single tin and a single promo, but the exact design of each comes from a pool of options. The pack count is fixed at four OP-17 boosters.

The official page adds a caveat: the illustration and product details shown may differ somewhat from the final product. Treat the image below as a preview rather than a guarantee of what ships.

Bandai has announced the One Piece Card Game Super Premium Collection vol.1 for November 13, 2026. The box holds 12 Booster Packs from OP-17, two promo cards, two metal cards, and 70 sleeves.

The contents are listed as follows:

• Booster Pack [OP-17] x 12
• Promotion Card x 2 (2 types)
• Metal Card x 2 (2 types)
• Card Sleeves x 70 (1 type)

The official page notes that the illustration and product details may differ somewhat from the final product.

The page presents the collection as a way to start collecting the One Piece Card Game. It also explains the game's main product types. A Starter Deck is a ready-to-play set with a preconstructed 50-card deck, 1 Leader card, 10 DON!! cards, and 3 Basic Rule index cards. Starter Deck EX and Ultimate Decks are upgraded options.

2026 Topps Chrome Samurai Japan Baseball has reportedly been pushed to an estimated release date of October 30, 2026. According to the reported details, Topps provided incorrect odds, and buyers were given the option to cancel their orders.

The set is a chromium release built around Japanese legends and players from the 2026 World Baseball Classic. The checklist is marked as subject to change, and none of this comes from an official Topps statement in the material available to TCGKing.

An update dated October 15, 2026 says the original Topps odds listed autographs at 1:10 for Collector's boxes but 1:100 for Single Packs. The corrected odds reportedly show the two formats as virtually the same, with overall autograph odds for the Collector's format now at 1:15.65 boxes.

The 2026-27 Topps FC Collector Tin Soccer line reportedly launches at $32.99 per tin, with 35 cards in each one. The details come from community reporting only, and no official Topps source is available to confirm the price, dates or checklists.

The £24.99 UK price converts to about $33.43 at the European Central Bank reference rate of 2026-10-22. That figure is approximate, since retail prices outside the original market are set by local distributors and usually differ.

According to the reports, each tin contains one 35-card pack and arrives in a hanger-style box built around a metal tin. A full case is 24 tins. Every tin carries two numbered parallels plus a shot at an autograph.

2026 Topps Black & White MLS Soccer is reportedly set to go on sale November 3, 2026, through an EQL raffle on the Topps website. A checklist guide lists an 80-subject base set, three autograph subsets, and inserts led by Flashpoint, which is capped at 20 copies per card.

Topps has not officially confirmed the date or the raffle in the material available, so both should be treated as reported.

The set brings Topps' monochrome, photography-first look to Major League Soccer for the first time, and it is sold only through the Topps website.

The base set has 80 subjects in a full-bleed design, with a Topps B&W logo at the top and a player and team nameplate at the bottom. Parallels typically add random splashes of colorization.

A buying guide reportedly makes the case that low-grade vintage baseball cards can look better than their numbers suggest and cost far less than high-grade examples. It names a best card under $500 for each decade, starting with the 1910s.

The guide's price gaps are stark. A 1957 Topps Mickey Mantle PSA 9 sold for $248,880, while a PSA 1.5 example sold for $457.50.

Eye Appeal Inc. is a platform that scores how good a card looks regardless of its numerical grade. There, the PSA 1.5 Mantle earned an EyeQ+ score of 179, well ahead of the 97 given to the PSA 9.

A second comparison uses a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth. A PSA 2 priced at $14,400 scored 170, while a PSA 8.5 priced at $1,065,000 scored 63.

Topps NOW is once again the home of the NBA Debut Inscription Autographs. Four top selections from the 2026 draft each signed a single, one-of-a-kind card to mark their arrival in the league, and the window to buy runs 48 hours, closing at midday on Saturday, October 24. The details come from press reports rather than a Topps statement.

Each card is a Debut Inscription Autograph marking a player's entrance into the league. The checklist covers four players.

• G Darryn Peterson, Utah Jazz (No. 2 pick)
• F Cameron Boozer, Memphis Grizzlies (No. 3 pick)
• F Caleb Wilson, Chicago Bulls (No. 4 pick)
• G Keaton Wagler, Los Angeles Clippers (No. 5 pick)

Heavy Dominion [ST14], a Green and White Gundam Card Game starter deck, reportedly carries an MSRP of $15.99 and a release date of September 25, 2026. It is built around two finishers, ST14-001 and ST14-006.

The box reportedly holds a ready-to-play 50-card deck, 10 Resource cards, 2 Token cards, 1 paper damage counter, 1 rule sheet and playsheet, and 1 Bonus Pack. That Bonus Pack gives you a single parallel-art copy of a card from among the deck's 16 different cards.

The decklist has 16 different cards: 30 Units, 8 Pilots, 8 Commands, and 4 copies of one Base. You get 2 copies of each of the two Legend Rares.

As of this writing, TCGplayer lists the deck at roughly $11. Retail prices outside the US are set by local distributors and usually differ.
