TCG briefs for October 24, 2026

The most valuable card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game set Sword & Shield – Fusion Strike is reportedly Gengar-VMAX 271/264, according to a top-10 ranking from PokéZentrum. It sells for about €450 to €750 in perfect condition.

PokéZentrum is a community source, and no official publisher statement backs the ranking, so all figures remain reported rather than confirmed. The ranking draws on current sale prices for German and English cards in "Near Mint" condition or better.

A retail deal is circulating for Magic: The Gathering's Hobbit release. According to a single outlet, Amazon lists the Magic: The Gathering x The Hobbit Gift Bundle at $99.99, a 9% discount from the previous $109.86.

TCGKing has not found an official Wizards of the Coast or Amazon statement on the price, so treat the figures below as reported, not confirmed.

The box is built around a mix of boosters and extras. It holds nine Play Boosters, a Collector Booster, an alternate-art promo card and 34 land cards.

The lands are a big part of the appeal. They include full-art seasonal hobbit lands in surge foil, along with full-art Middle-Earth Journey lands.

Draftsim's buying guide reportedly names the Magic: The Gathering Foundations Play Booster the best overall booster to buy. The pick is aimed at shoppers who are unsure what they, or the person they are buying for, want from a booster.

The guide's Foundations Play Booster Box entry is listed at $174.95 on Amazon and labelled Best Overall. This is a retailer listing shown in a third-party guide, not an official Wizards of the Coast price.

Draftsim reportedly gives three reasons. Foundations has more playability than other sets, many of its cards are solid beyond the Standard format, and its cards are seen on Commander tables.

The Amazon listing text quoted in the guide says each Foundations Play Booster holds 1–4 cards of Rare rarity or higher. That includes the possible Special Guest Mythic Rare card with an alt-frame treatment. Packs may also contain Borderless cards and reprints with new art.

Union Arena's English-version BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Special Release Event takes place at participating stores from November 6 – 12, 2026. Entrants purchase packs of Booster Pack [UEX08BT] (BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Vol.3) and play with what they open. Player applications opened on October 23, 2026.

The event is played under Five Pack Battle Rules. A store can run it as a Shield format built on Booster Pack [UEX08BT], or as a Constructed format.

Two Sealed variants are described:

• Booster-only Sealed: open 5 booster packs and build a deck as close to 60 cards as possible.
• Starter + Booster Sealed: open 1 Starter and 5 booster packs, with the same deck-building goal.
