Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG IMPH: Number 96 Black Marionetter and Chaos Barian's Change leak
Two Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG cards from IMPH have reportedly leaked: a Rank 2 DARK Xyz for Umbral Horror and a Normal Spell tied to "Masquerade" Xyz Monsters. Neither is officially confirmed.
Two cards from IMPH, a set in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, have reportedly surfaced: Number 96: Black Marionetter (IMPH-JP043), which supports Umbral Horror, and the Normal Spell Chaos Barian's Change (IMPH-JP065). No official source has confirmed the texts, so everything below is reported only.
Number 96: Black Marionetter
According to the leak, Number 96: Black Marionetter is a Rank 2 DARK Fiend Xyz Effect Monster with ATK 100 and DEF 1000. Three Level 2 DARK monsters are required as materials. One alternate translation of the name is "Number 96: Dark Manipulator."
The monster's (1) and (2) effects can each be used only once per turn. Effect (1) lets the player detach 1 material so the monster gains ATK equal to the total original ATK of every monster the opponent currently controls.
Effect (2) is a Quick Effect that can be used when the opponent activates a card or effect. The player may send the card and its materials to the GY, then Special Summon "Umbral Horror" and/or "Malicevorous" monsters from the GY, up to the number of materials it had.
Chaos Barian's Change
Chaos Barian's Change is reportedly a Normal Spell Card in IMPH. Only 1 of its (1) and (2) effects can be used per turn, and only once that turn.
Effect (1) targets 1 "Masquerade" Xyz Monster you control. The player Special Summons from the Extra Deck 1 "Number" monster that is 1 Rank higher or 2 Ranks lower, using the target as material. The summon is treated as an Xyz Summon, and the materials transfer.
Effect (2) works from the GY: the card is banished to target 3 "Umbral Horror" monsters and/or "Masquerade" Xyz Monsters there. Those cards are placed on the bottom of the Deck in any order, and the player then draws 1 card.
Where the reveal comes from
The reveal reportedly originates from a post on X (Twitter). The card images circulating are MS Paint proxy artworks, which also appear on Simorg.ca, so the final card artwork has not been seen.
Earlier IMPH reports
These cards follow other IMPH reports, including Ashtrata Tamayori and Ashtrama Yoami and two Atlantis cards that become Umi.
What players should note
- For Umbral Horror decks, the reported Xyz needs 3 Level 2 DARK monsters, and its Quick Effect can bring back "Umbral Horror" and "Malicevorous" monsters from the GY.
- The spell is reported to link "Masquerade" Xyz Monsters to "Number" monsters 1 Rank higher or 2 Ranks lower.
- Because the images are proxies and no official source has weighed in, treat all card text as provisional.
