Agatha of the Vile Cauldron jumps from $1.10 to $13.19 on a combo
The Wilds of Eldraine card has reportedly climbed on MTG Goldfish after players found an infinite combo with Reality Fracture commander Aerid Konstrari.
Agatha of the Vile Cauldron has reportedly climbed from $1.10 in the summer to $13.19, according to the MTG Goldfish tracker. The rise is attributed to a combo with Aerid Konstrari, a new sphinx commander from the Reality Fracture set.
What is driving the price
Agatha's discount applies to Aerid's ability because that ability makes mana rocks and needs only generic mana.
With Agatha at five power, the combo makes Aerid infinitely powerful and creates infinite tapped Heartwood tokens. At six power, Aerid's ability becomes completely free and the combo also produces infinite mana.
Agatha appears in 2,700 of the 4,500 Konstrari decks logged on EDHREC.
About the card
Agatha is a Gruul human warlock that reduces the activated ability cost of creatures based on her power, with the discount starting at one. She was released in the 2023 set Wilds of Eldraine.
She has historically been a good fit for Kenrith, the Returned King, and saw some use in the Marvel Super-Skrull deck, described as a Fantastic-4-themed take on Kenrith. The $1.10 summer price matches the period when the Marvel set came out.
Prices in context
The current $13.19 is roughly €11.75, and the earlier $1.10 roughly €0.98, at the European Central Bank reference rate of 2026-10-19. These are approximate conversions, not official prices, and local retail prices usually differ.
Other sphinx commanders
Aerid is not alone among the Hexhaven sphinxes. Stringerquill, Konstrari, Vigorbloom and Fatehold are all seeing a lot of play. The Dimir sphinx, Theorix, lags behind because its ETB does not work if he is flickered.

What is still unknown
It is not stated whether the price will hold or keep rising. The Reality Fracture release date is also not stated.
What it means for players
- Commander players building Aerid Konstrari should note that Agatha's power level, five or six, determines how much of the combo works.
- Kenrith and Super-Skrull decks already use Agatha, so owners of those lists are affected by the same card.
