TCG briefs for October 20, 2026

Italian Pokémon TCG player Alessandro "iCaterpie" Cremascoli says he has been permanently banned after publicly complaining that a judge treated him unfairly. The claim is reported only on his own account: no disciplinary notice has been shown, and The Pokémon Company had not publicly commented as of the reports.

On October 16, 2026, Cremascoli posted about the reported ban on X. According to him, another incident at the most recent World Championships pushed him to speak out publicly. The incident took place at the 2026 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco. Six hours after posting, he removed it, and he blames the permanent ban on that complaint.

Wizards of the Coast has announced four Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek Commander decks, led by Picard, Spock, Worf, and the Borg Queen. Each deck holds 32 new-to-Magic cards, and each comes in a standard version and a Collector's Edition version. They release on November 13, 2026, and preorders are open.

The decks are Federation Fleet (Blue-Red-White), Landing Party (Green-White-Blue), Klingon Fury (Red-White-Black), and We Are the Borg (White-Blue-Black).

Each deck is said to include a card for a favorite character, episode, and starship from across the Star Trek franchise.

TheGamer, a community outlet, has published the full decklist for We Are the Borg, the first of the four decks to be fully revealed. TCGKing has not seen this list confirmed by Wizards of the Coast, so it is REPORTED.

Rocktusk Beast Babirusaite (RD/KP27-JP036) has reportedly been revealed as a Level 4 EARTH Beast Effect Monster with ATK 1300 and DEF 600. Its effect changes the battle position of up to 2 opposing monsters, at the price of limiting which monsters can attack afterward.

The card's code is RD/KP27-JP036. Its Japanese name is written as 岩角獣バビルサイド (Gankakujuu Babirusaite), which is rendered in English as Rocktusk Beast Babirusaite.

It is a Level 4 EARTH Beast Effect Monster with ATK 1300 and DEF 600.

To use the effect, the player must send this face-up card from their field to the Graveyard.

For the effect, the player chooses up to 2 monsters on the opponent's field and changes their battle position. For the rest of that turn, the player cannot attack with monsters other than EARTH monsters.

Premium Bandai reportedly ran a second lottery sale for the "ONE PIECE Card Game 4th Anniversary Set," a set with nine special promo cards. Applications closed on October 20, 2026 at 23:00 Japan time; winners are announced in late October.

The set marks the 4th anniversary of the One Piece Card Game. The price is 18,700 yen including tax (about $118, a conversion computed by TCGKing and not an official price).

The nine promo cards feature Monkey D. Luffy, Shanks, Dracule Mihawk, Edward Newgate, Nefertari Vivi, Enel, "The Five Elders Are Here!!!", Nami, and Borsalino.

Beyond the cards, the set contains 70 sleeves, a playmat, and a card case. The card and supply designs come from the design unit "GOO CHOKI PAR," described as a world view not seen before.

Bushiroad has set Weiß Schwarz Azur Lane Vol.3 (work number AZL) for release on Friday, December 25, 2026. It is a booster pack, and each pack is listed at 440 yen (about $2.78) with tax included.

Each pack holds 8 cards, and each box holds 10 packs. A box carries a suggested retail price of 4,400 yen (about $27.80), tax included. Each carton holds 12 boxes; a carton price is not stated.

The set contains 125 normal card types plus 125 or more parallel types.

The set includes foil-stamped signature cards from voice cast members. Details of those cards will be published later.

Newly drawn illustrations by illustrators are planned for inclusion. This follows Azur Lane Vol.2, which was released in 2025.

Reportedly, the Lionel Messi-2026 Argentina Topps Now-Final Farewell Pack wrapped up its sales window at a print run of 664,325, the highest of any release in Topps NOW history.

Reaching that figure also triggered the first 1/1 White OpalFractor Chrome card ever offered by the Topps NOW program. Packs begin shipping in November, though an exact date has not been announced.

The previous Topps NOW record belonged to Shohei Ohtani's 50/50 milestone card, at 653,737.

The Olympic basketball card showing LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant came in at 588,030.

The earlier Messi card announcing his Argentina retirement hit 335,283, which ranks fourth on the all-time Topps NOW print-run list. Fifth place goes to the Jack Hughes Olympic goal card, at 332,447.

Grading got more expensive and more complicated in September 2026, according to reported figures. SGC raised its entry price from $18 to $50, PSA launched a $59.99 Standard tier, and Beckett left only its Express tier open. The figures come from PregradeCards' tracking of the companies' pricing pages.

On Sept 2, 2026, SGC moved its entry price from $18 to $50 for a Standard tier with a turnaround of 40+ days. SGC Expedited costs $150 with a 2–3 day turnaround, and SGC does not offer sub-grades.

PSA launched a Standard tier at $59.99 with a 90–100 business day turnaround, dated Sept 9/14, 2026.

PSA also renamed its Regular tier to Priority, at $79.99 and 70–80 days. Walk-Through became Premier, at $599 and 7–10 days. The rename is dated Sept 14.

A third-party shipping vehicle carrying PSA-graded items was hit by a theft, according to a confirmation from PSA. The grader has shut off the certificates tied to the stolen items and says compensation is being organized for the customers affected.

As the investigation continues, PSA says it is cooperating closely with both law enforcement and the carrier. According to TheGamer, PSA has since confirmed that both the Santa Ana Police Department and the FBI are investigating, describing the work as local and federal law enforcement. PSA says it has given investigators video footage, shipment manifests and item-level records, briefed them in person at its facility, and remains in daily contact. In a statement to IGN, PSA also said it will keep working with law enforcement "to hold those responsible accountable" and that its team is focused on supporting the collectors involved.
